How to cancel Adobe Stock free trial?

You will find several topics on various forums with people claiming that Adobe Stock scams you even if you cancel your free trial. Such claims are, of course, not true. Adobe Stock is too big of a company to run risky scams on its customers. Therefore, I assure you that Adobe Stock is legit.

To cancel the Adobe Stock free trial, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Adobe account.
  2. Go to Plan information and click Manage plan.
  3. Under Plan & payment, click Cancel plan.
  4. Select the reason for the cancellation, click Continue.
  5. You will receive an email confirming your cancellation.

If you don’t cancel your free trial in time (before the free trial expires), you will be charged a monthly subscription price for the plan you chose. You may cancel the subscription plans anytime, even after the free trial expires, but you will still be charged for the current month.

When the free trial expires, you may keep using all the images you downloaded, even if you cancelled. However, if you didn’t use all 10 downloads, you won’t be able to access them after the free trial expires.

Keep in mind that you may re-subscribe at any time to continue using Adobe Stock. Alternatively, you can purchase credit packs if you only need a couple of images.

Adobe has always been innovating by improving the user experience of its designers. Their innovation has spread to stock photography in 2015 when Adobe acquired Fotolia. Now, Adobe Stock (read my review) offers 220+ million high-quality stock images, videos, templates, and more.

Crucially, Adobe Stock is a part of Adobe Creative Cloud, a platform of all Adobe apps, including Lightroom, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator. The integration of Adobe Stock into the Creative Cloud is a clever and practical solution for designers using apps such as Photoshop.

Thanks to this feature, you can access Adobe Stock images directly from your app without ever leaving them and paying for images you don’t use. You can experiment as much as you want with any image you’d like, and only when you’re happy with the result, you purchase the used images.

How to Download Images from Adobe Stock?

Now it’s time to put the Adobe Stock free trial to use. There are two simple ways to download images from Adobe Stock, but they depend on whether you use Creative Cloud apps or not.

For Creative Cloud users:

  1. Open a Creative Cloud app such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
  2. Go to Libraries panel. If it isn’t already open, click Window > Libraries or Window > CC Libraries.
  3. Search the library for images.
  4. Find the right image.
  5. Use the image by double-clicking on it.
  6. To use the unwatermarked version, click on License image.

For non Creative Cloud users:

  1. Go to Adobe Stock.
  2. Type the keyword in the search bar.
  3. Click on License.
  4. A pop-up will prompt you to choose which plan you want to use to download the image. Choose your 10 downloads.

Adobe Stock Pricing

Adobe Stock sells images with subscription plans and on-demand with credits (credit packs). Subscription plans are generally cheaper and are suitable for users who need images consistently. On the other hand, credit packs are more expensive; but, they are the better option for users who need images occasionally.

Subscription plans

Adobe Stock offers month-to-month (monthly) and annual subscription plans. Monthly subscription plans are generally more expensive than the annual subscription plan; but, they don’t require you to commit for a full year.

Free trial is only available with annual subscription plans of 10 and 40 monthly assets. As a rule, the larger the subscription plan, the lower the price per asset. Therefore, if you expect that you’ll need a lot of images, I recommend you purchase the largest plan.

If you don’t want to commit to a subscription plan for long, I recommend credit packs that do not bind you to any contract.

Credit packs

By purchasing a credit pack you acquire a certain amount of credits. You can then use the credits to download content from Adobe Stock, including standard and premium images, videos, templates, and 3D objects.

Overall, credit packs offer more flexibility; however, they come with higher prices per asset. Therefore, they are the best option for users who don’t need images regularly.

For this table to make any sense, you need to know how many credits each type of content costs.

  • Videos (HD, 4K): 8-20 Credits
  • Premium images (photos, vectors, illustrations): 12-50 Credits
  • Premium templates (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign): 2-4 Credits
  • Premium 3D (Models, Lights, Materials): 2-10 Credits

Don’t forget that credits last for one year after you purchase them.
