Canva Logo Maker isn’t as well-guided as some of its alternatives, like Looka and Wix Logo Maker, so it’s more difficult to find the template you would like. However, it’s one of the cheapest options that allows you to download a PNG or JPG logo with the free plan or an SVG logo with the Pro plan that you can get for as low as $9.99/mo when bought yearly. You can also get it completely free using the Canva Pro free trial.

As a result, we think that Canva Logo Maker is the best for anyone who’s already using Canva or is on a very low budget. Canva’s Logo Maker is part of the entire Canva suite of tools, so you cannot get it independently. You can use certain features for free using Canva’s free plan, or you can pay for the Canva Pro plan monthly ($12.99/mo) or yearly ($9.99/mo).

How Does Canva Logo Maker Work?

After creating an account, you will be redirected to the Canva editor, where you make all designs, not just the logo creation. By default, Canva will create a square file size in 500 × 500 px resolution. You can change this by creating a new design or resizing the existing one if you have an active subscription.

In contrast with conventional logo makers, Canva doesn’t guide you through a wizard where you select your logo name, colors, layout, and other logo elements. Instead, you can browse thousands of existing logo templates, divided into free (for everyone) and premium (only for paid users). You can also browse templates by keywords (e.g., “green”, “text”).

When you find a logo template you like, click on it to copy it to your editor. From there, you will, at the very least, have to change the text of the logo to your company. Overall, the editor is straightforward—you click on whatever you want to edit, which will open several options depending on the object, such as font size, font type, size, color, orientation, and more. You can keep editing this until you’re happy with your logo.
