Shutterstock partnered with Nvidia to bring AI to 3D content creation

Shutterstock and Nvidia 3D collaboration

Shutterstock, a leading global provider of stock imagery, has just announced a collaboration with technology giant Nvidia to develop cutting-edge generative AI solutions for 3D modeling. The announcement was made via a tweet and will be a major focus at the upcoming GTC AI Conference in San Jose, California.

This partnership marks a significant leap for Shutterstock, which has already established itself as a leader in integrating AI into its platform. Their past collaborations with OpenAI resulted in a suite of AI-powered creative tools, while it’s also been hinted that Sora was trained on Shutterstock’s videos.

Currently, we don’t know much more, as there’s only that one tweet to go on. The integration of Nvidia’s generative AI cloud services, such as NVIDIA Picasso, could enable Shutterstock to accelerate the development of 3D content. This means 3D artists will have the power to create complex objects, textures, and entire scenes with unprecedented speed and ease.

Key benefits of this collaboration would include text-to-3D model generation, advanced customization, and time savings. The ability to generate 3D assets quickly will free up valuable time for artists to focus on the creative aspects of their work.

However, this news comes on the same day Adobe announced that they’re integrating Firefly AI into Substance 3D, their Creative Cloud software for 3D modeling. This cannot be a coincidence.

Attendees of the GTC AI Conference (either in-person or virtually) will have the opportunity to see these new tools in action and discuss the future of 3D content creation with both Shutterstock and Nvidia experts.
