We analyzed over 2200 modern laptops and over 500 desktop monitors to find the most common resolutions and, thus, the wallpaper sizes. We also checked iPhones, iPads, and iMac displays from the year 2014 onward (iPhone 6).
The most common desktop and mobile wallpaper size is 1920×1080 pixels, representing around 50% of all screen resolutions. We also found out that Apple products’ wallpaper dimensions increase by about 11% every third generation (equivalent to about 3.6% per generation).

PC/Desktop wallpaper sizes
The most common wallpaper size for desktops is 1920×1080 pixels, called FHD (full high-definition), with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
